Local residents are invited to celebrate autumn with music, German food and beer during the High Desert Okotberfest, from 4-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, at Sahalee Park.

Admission is free to the event, which is being hosted by the Madras Kiwanis, Elks and Lions organizations.

Mount Angel Oktoberfest sausages and kraut for $5, and dark beer will be available for purchase, along with German pizza. Musical entertainment will be bluegrass music by Dennis and Ellen Jakab of Powell Butte.

The Kiwanis will be selling raffle tickets for its annual wine raffle, which offers 30 bottles of premium wine for first place, and 10 bottles of wine to second and third places. Tickets are five for $20, or one for $5, and the drawing will be held Dec. 3.
