The rodeo is held in memory of the late Tom Green, pictured with his horse, who was a big supporter of ag-related youth programs. The third annual Tom Green Memorial Ranch Rodeo will buck at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, May 3.

The event is a fundraiser for local FFA and 4-H programs, in the memory of Tom Green, who was an advocate for youth in agriculture and a longtime supporter of the fair 4-H/FFA livestock auction.

This rodeo has a different twist on events, featuring ranch bronc riding, muley team roping, team branding, calf doctoring and a cowboy rescue race.

In the past two years, the rodeo has raised and donated $10,000 to bump fair auction animal sale prices and cover stall rental fees for all Jefferson County 4-H and FFA kids.

The goal this year is to raise $8,500 to help support 4-H and FFA club members.

Admission to the rodeo is $10, with kids age 12 and under admitted free. Come watch the action while supporting local 4-H and FFA programs.
