New staff members at Midland are Rachel Bare, left, Wayne Marshall and David McCourtney.Midland Realty in Madras is welcoming three new staff members, brokers Wayne Marshall, David McCourtney, and Rachel Bare.

Principal brother Vic Delamarter noted, “We had an 11- to 12-person staff prior to the crash of the economy, and now we’re rebuilding staff since business is picking up.

During the downturn, the three principal brokers, Delamarter, Sharon Brackett and Ronnie Frost kept the business running, with Brackett primarily handling the property management side, and the other two the real estate side.

Marshall has lived in the area all his life. His family moved from Gateway to Metolius, where he grew up and eventually graduated from Madras High School.

Marshall did construction work, worked in millwork manufacturing for 30 years at Bright Wood, then earned an associate degree from Central Oregon Community College in business administration and accounting. He recently earned an Oregon real estate broker license and was hired by Midland Realty.

A retired teacher, counselor and principal, McCourtney worked in Oregon for 25 years and in Alaska for eight years.

Since 1994, he and his wife of 36 years, Louise, have owned a home in Culver and call Jefferson County home. They have two grown children, and 11 grandchildren, all residing in Oregon.

“I first came to Jefferson County in 1976 and fell in love with the wide open spaces, the people, and the recreational opportunities here,” he said.

Bare grew up in Roseburg and graduated from Roseburg High School. She attended Western Oregon University and graduated in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in health education, with a business minor.

After graduation, she moved to Central Oregon and married Kegan Bare. They have one son, with another one on the way.
