Lovrien won $400, of which he donated $200 back to the Shriners to go toward transportation, food and lodging for families of patients of Shriners Hospital for Children in Portland.

Larry Easter, representing the Central Oregon Shriners, sold 7,000 raffle tickets, mostly to businesses in Madras, Culver, Metolius and Warm Springs. The winning ticket was drawn by Jefferson County Fair Queen Rachale Zuhlke at the fair parade on July 19.

“The Shriners thank Brad for his generosity and congratulate him for winning, after many years of buying these raffle tickets. They also thank Abby’s Pizza for hosting lunch for the Shriner’s Go-cart Patrol following the parade, which they do every year,” Easter said.

Shriners Hospital treats children under 18 for a variety of orthopedic and other conditions free of charge, no matter what the income level of the family is. They also provide condos to house families of patients during their stay.

The local Shriners hold screening clinics periodically to review with patients the conditions of children who might benefit from what the Shriners Hospital can do. If anyone has, or knows a child who could use their help, contact Larry Easter at 541-475-2957.

Conditions Shriners Hospital treats include: scoliosis, clubfoot, spina bifida, neuromuscular disorders, hand problems, hip disorders, orthopaedic problems from cerebral palsy, missing limbs and limb deficiencies, leg-length discrepancies, metabolic bone disease, skeletal growth abnormalities, spinal cord injuries, burn injuries, cleft lip and palate, and osteogenesis imperfecta.
