The Jefferson County Library Film Center is opening its 12th free film series season with the “Screen on the Green,” Friday, Sept. 5, featuring the family film, “Frozen” (PG).

Preshow entertainment begins at 7:30 p.m., and will include juggling by Michael McGinnis, and a performance by the La Luna Folklorica Dance Team. The movie starts at 8 p.m.

Viewers are invited to come in their favorite “Frozen” costume, sing along with all the songs, and bring snacks, chairs, and blankets to enjoy a fun outdoor evening in Sahalee Park.

After the “Screen on the Green” the Film Center will continue to offer free Friday evening films from September through June 2015 at the Rodriguez Annex, 134 S.E. E St., Madras, with refreshments always available.

The free films for September are:

Friday, Sept. 12, 7:30 p.m., “Blancanieves,” (PG 13) is a black and white silent Spanish fantasy film based on the fairy tale "Snow White.” The story is set in a romantic vision of 1920s Andalusia, Spain.

Friday, Sept. 19, 7:30 p.m., the classic film “Sunset Boulevard” (NR). Staring Gloria Swanson and William Holden, in this poison-pen valentine to Hollywood,

an aging silent-film star ensnares a young screenwriter.
