>   Enos Herkshan, Jr.
   Enos Ivan Herkshan, Jr., 60, a resident of Warm Springs, died at Mountain View Hospital in Madras on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003.
   Mr. Herkshan was born Sept. 17, 1943 in Fort Klamath, Ore., the older of two children to Enos Ivan and Eleanor (Ellsworth) Herkshan. He was raised in Klamath Agency, Ore. and graduated from high school in Gresham.
   He entered the U.S. Marines in 1961 and while in the service, he served in Laos then in Viet Nam. He received two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star and the Navy Unit Citation Award and was discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1972.
   He returned to Warm Springs and was currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Warm Springs Forest Products Industries.
   He was a member of Northwest Indian Veteran's Association and enjoyed coaching basketball, rodeo and horse racing.
   Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Herkshan of Warm Springs; five sons, Captain Moody; Keith Moody, both of Simnasho; Enos Ivan Guy Herkshan of Illinois, Vernal of Utah; twins, Leevi and Gunner Herkshan, both of Warm Springs; one daughter, Brandi Herkshan of Killeen, Texas; one adopted daughter, Kristina Fred Sampson of Lyle, Wash.; numerous grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Nelson of Redland, Ore.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
   Private dressing services were held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in The Dalles on Friday, Nov. 28. Public viewing services were at Simnasho Long House on Friday, Nov. 28, with funeral services following. Interment was Saturday morning at Simnasho Cemetery.
