Bulldogs can't produce enough offense to win SD3 games

The Culver High School softball team dropped a pair of Special District 3 contests, one to Perrydale on Wednesday and another to Kennedy on Friday.

Against the Pirates on the road Wednesday, the Bulldogs could only muster four hits off Perrydale pitcher Bryce Baucum and the league leaders in a 6-0 loss.

Josi Harrison, Ashley Wilda, Sabrina Navarro and Sara McKinney each tallied base hits for the Bulldogs.

Against Kennedy on Friday in Mt. Angel, eight runs in the sixth inning propelled the Trojans to the league win.

The Bulldogs led 5-3 before the barrage of runs the Trojans put up to steal the game away.

Wilda collected two hits, including a two-run single in the sixth to give the Bulldogs the lead.

Kellee Anderson had three hits for Culver in the loss.

The Bulldogs are on the road in their next two contests. They will play at Stayton against Regis on Monday, and then will travel to Halsey to take on Central Linn on May 1.

Since Country Christian canceled its season, the Bulldogs won't be at home until May 8, with their second game against Perrydale.
