Yeahquo shines for East in all-star series

Madras grad makes all-tourney team

Yeahquo, a first team all-Tri Valley Conference forward this past basketball season, scored a game-high 25 points on 10 of 17 shooting in a 104-82 victory against the North all-stars on Saturday. He also pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds and pair of blocked shots.

In Friday night’s 90-84 loss to the South all-stars, Yeahquo scored 11 points on 5 of 14 shooting.

Yeahquo was named to the event’s all-tournament team, averaging 18 points and seven rebounds per game. The four regionally-defined teams played a double elimination tournament. With the East’s win Saturday, they finished third in the tournament.

The East team was made up of players from Class 4A’s Tri-Valley Conference and Greater Oregon League, Class 3A’s Eastern Oregon League and Class 2A’s Blue Mountain Conference.

Other members from the Tri-Valley Conference on the team included Molalla’s Ryan Potter and Brad Hagaman, along with Gladstone’s Michael Stoutt. Baker’s Dillon Blankenship, Riverside’s Omar Murillo and Weston-McEwen’s Tyler Peterson, along with Pilot Rock duo Jason GrosJacques and Josh Barkley, rounded out the East squad.

The team was coached by Joel Richardson of Baker, Ted Aubin of Burns and Jake McElligott of Irrigon.
