MPT to hold free running clinic
Learn how to run properly, for free.
In conjunction with MADras Runners, Madras Physical Therpy co-owner Trevor Groves will host a running clinic from 6:30-8 p.m. July 31 at Madras Physical Therapy, 910 SE U.S. Highway 97, Suite 200.
The clinic will focus on biomechanical, neuromuscular and training aspects of successful running.
Both experienced and new runners will benefit from gaining understanding of how to prevent injuries, by screening for joint and soft tissue limitations, as well as how to optimize training with a few simple strategies, Groves said.
We will do some teaching in the clinic and then go running on our local trails and roads, so please do bring your running gear and hydration as needed.
Madras Physical Therapy is the title sponsor of the Madras Aquatic Center Recreation District 10K race series, and the next race in the series is the Madras Pioneer Beat the Heat Run, August 3 at the Madras Aquatic Center.
There will be both 5 and 10K runs, and registration begins at 7 a.m.
So if you want to get a refresher course on proper running technique before the big race, head over to MPT and take advantage of the great information Groves will provide, free of charge.
The Canyon Rumble Frozen half marathon is slated for Dec. 7.
