Still time to sign up for Habitat golf scramble
Even though the deadline for the Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity golf scramble is listed as Sept. 18 on fliers, the less-than-punctual golfer can still get in the field.
The event is a four-person scramble format, and will be held at 8 a.m. Sept. 21 at Desert Peaks Gold Course in Madras. If golfers contact Habitat by Sept. 20, they can still sign up.
The cost is $40 per person, and you can either sign up with a full team or asked to be placed on one by the tournament committee. The cost covers green fees and a ride on a golf cart. There will also be a contest for the longest drive and closest to the pin, which will cost whoever wants to enter $5.
All proceed from the event go toward building Habitats 16th house.
