Two local stars are up for honors at the Oregon Sports Awards.

Jacoby Ellsbury, a Madras High School graduate and member of the New York Yankess, won a World Series with the Boston Red Sox last year and led Major League Baseball with 52 stolen bases. He is up for professional athlete of the year against Bend's Ashton Eaton, Olympic gold medalist in the decathlon, and Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard.

To qualify for the award, a player has to play for a professional team in Oregon or have gone to high school or college in Oregon.

Jared Kasch, a Culver High School graduate and four-time Class 2A state champion wrestler, has been named a finalist for prep wrestler of the year.

Kasch became the 25th wrestler in Oregon high school wrestling history to claim four state championships, following his victory against Pine Eagle's Brock Hickman at 120 pounds last season. He also became the second Culver wrestler to do it, joining Miguel Baltazar, who is now an assistant coach on J.D. Alley's staff.

The OSA ceremony will be held Feb. 9 at the Tiger Woods Center on the Nike World Campus in Beaverton.
