Madras and Culver both participated in a track meet Thursday, April 5, hosted by Madras.

STEELE HAUGEN - Dalton Waldow sets a PR in the long jump. Madras track and field hosted a four-team meet Thursday, April 5, and made every point count with a very narrow win. Madras boys scored a total of 81.66 points, while Crook County was right behind them with 80.33 points. Culver also had a strong showing with 45 points and Condon/Wheeler with nine.

The Buffs had five first-place winners for individual events, and won first place in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay events. Culver had two individual first-place finishers.

Dalton Waldow had his best jump of the year. He jumped 20 feet, 7 ¼ inches in the long jump for Madras. This gave Waldow the third longest jump in Oregon 4A as of this year.

Stefaughn Jackson won the 200-meter dash for Madras with a PR time of 26.32 seconds. J.P. Henry was right behind him with a second-place finish, 27.01. Jackson also placed second in the 800 and third in the 400.

STEELE HAUGEN - Edwin Gutierrez run the 1,500 meter raceThe 1,500 meter run was won by Austin Charley (5:04.59) of Madras. Edwin Gutierrez finished second for the Bulldogs with a time of 5:08.36.

Allen Jackson hit a PR (18.15) for the Buffs in the 110-meter hurdles. Jackson also placed third in the high jump with a leap of 5-4. Kash Michael for Culver edged out Jackson by two inches with a of 5-6.

The Bulldogs dominated the 100-meter dash, first-, second-, and third-place finishes. Kash Michael finished first (12.39), Cesar Orozco second (12.68), and Justyce Loredo third (12.87).

Culver won the triple jump with the help of Austin Williams and his jump of 28-2, which was a PR of for Williams.

The White Buffalo women's track team also got a win at home. Madras had a total of 73 points, edging out Crook County (65), Culver (46), and Condon/Wheeler (23).

The Bulldogs had an impressive six individual first-place finishers. While the Buffs had three individual first-place finishers and won both the 4x100 and the 4x400.

Culver standout Catylynn Duff won both in the shot put and discuss. Duff had her best discus throw of the year with 127-8. That throw put her on top of the 2A leaderboard for discus.

Duff also had a shot put throw of 35-4. Duff has the farthest throw in shot put this year in 2A with a throw of 37-1.

The women's 100-meter dash was captured by a pair of White Buffalo freshmen. Olivia Symons placed first with a time of 13.60, and teammate Naomi De Anda had a second-place finish, thanks to a 14.26 time.

Racquel Smith won the 200-meter dash and Patty Speakthunder finished second for the Buffs. Smith had a time of 36.94 and Speak-thunder 37.31.

STEELE HAUGEN - Natalia Tewee runs the 800 meter race.Natalia Tewee of Madras finished with a time of 3:18 to capture first place in the 800- meter race.

Bulldog Bridget Lopez dominated the hurdles, winning both the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles.

The javelin was won by Culver's Mikayla Haessler. The junior threw 87-05. Haessler also finished second in the long jump.

Kiana Webb and Haessler tied for first in the pole vault for Culver with height of 7-1.
