Public safety — Amounting more than $31,000 in debt to at least five local businesses, Roger Tomlinson arrested Dec. 26

When a Hillsboro man was arrested Dec. 26 for fraudulent credit card charges, the Newberg-Dundee Police Department learned the charges were more extensive than formerly believed.

Roger Scott Tomlinson, 30, was arrested for alleged charges amounting to more than $31,000 at five or more Newberg businesses from June to December 2013.

The suspect used a Capitol One credit card which had been closed since 2012. According to NDPD, when the company was contacted, they learned of more fraudulent activity amounting to more than $100,000 in charges in several states.

Tomlinson was arrested on two felony counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, eight misdemeanor counts, first-degree aggravated theft, nine counts of second-degree theft, criminal impersonation and theft of service.

He was released the same day by the Yamhill County Circuit Court.
