A-dec named among ‘Most Admired Companies’

A-dec Inc., Newberg’s dental component manufacturer, was named recently one of Oregon’s “most admired companies,” as a part of the Portland Business Journal’s annual survey on innovation, management, community involvement, quality of products and services, and branding and marketing. A-dec was named third best manufacturer and fifth best company overall for 2013.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by our peers as one of the region’s strongest and most respected companies,” said Scott Parrish, A-dec’s president and CEO. “It’s also a testament to the commitment and dedication of all the people who make A-dec A-dec. Although the world has changed over the last five decades, our values have never wavered.”

Area residents named Peace Fellows

Two area residents were recently named Rotary Peace Fellows. Kate Kimmer, of Tigard, and Maria Caruso, of Portland, were named as one of 100 fellows to study peace and promote conflict resolution. Kimmer, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Newberg, will attend International Christian University in Tokyo. Caruso, sponsored by the Newberg Early Bird Rotary Club, will attend University of Queensland in Australia. Both will work toward master’s degrees in peace and conflict resolution.
