Higher ed — Potential students can meet professors, admissions counselors, current students and coaches at Bruin Preview

George Fox University has opened registration for Bruin Preview, a two-day college visitation event April 10-11 that gives prospective undergraduate students a chance to check out Christian college life in Newberg.

The event is for prospective first-year students and college transfer students will have the opportunity to attend classes, tour the facilities, learn about financial aid, and meet with current students, faculty, admissions counselors and coaches.

Parents are welcome to attend Bruin Preview, participate in events along with students and become familiar with the school by touring the campus and meeting with administrators and admissions counselors.

Students are invited to spend the night on campus and, on the evening of April 10, choose which activities they would like to attend. Among the offerings that evening will be the university theatre troupe’s performance of “The Game’s Afoot.”

Online registration at is open through April 4 or until the event fills up. Space is limited and the event is expected to reach capacity.

Cost is $25 per student, which includes admission to events April 10, a full day of activities April 11, meals for parents/guests on April 11, and all meals, lodging and a commemorative T-shirt for students. The cost per parent or guest is $10.

Transportation is available from the Portland airport, train station or bus depot for students traveling from outside the local area without a parent or guardian. To arrange transportation, students should call 1-800-765-4369, ext. 2240, with their itinerary at least a week before the event.
