Tunes on Tuesday seeking sponsors

Chamber official says sponsors needed for three of eight concerts

Tunes on Tuesday is a mere two months away, meaning the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce is still seeking sponsors for the popular summer concert series.

Sheryl Kelsh, chamber director, said sponsors are still needed for three of the eight concerts.by: GARY ALLEN - Sponsors needed - Blues guitarist Ben Rice has performed at the past several Tunes on Tuesday concert series. This year the series kicks off July 8, but sponsors are still needed to fund three of the eight concerts.

“Sponsorships are $2,000 for one or $1,500 each if someone wants to share a sponsorship,” she said. “We also have smaller opportunities at the $250 and $500 level where they don’t get the specific sponsorship of a band, but get recognition on a banner for contributing to the overall Tunes on Tuesday season.”

Kelsh said overall, they are aiming for $20,000 in funding to bankroll the free events.

“We could not put on the free concert series without the participation of our sponsors,” she said. “(But) the event is not a fundraiser. We procure just enough sponsors to cover all the costs associated with the event.”

Those interested in sponsorship should contact Kelsh at the chamber by calling 503-538-2014.

Tunes on Tuesday starts July 8 and Kelsh said they expect more than 1,000 people to attend the concerts each week.
