Newberg Downtown Coalition makes national Main Street list
The Newberg Downtown Coalition again received recognition this month as being an affiliate of the Main Street America program, a national network of communities aiming to revitalize historic commercial districts. The national list of affiliates recognizes communities across the country that have experienced significant improvements through local Main Street programs. In a press release, the Newberg Downtown Coalition boasts having a hand in reducing downtown vacant commercial spaces from 16 to 3. In addition, the organization manages a number of downtown programs and events, including the Newberg Farmers Market.
Chamber seeks Brews & BBQ volunteers
The Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce has put out a call to its members to volunteer at the annual, chamber-organized Brews & BBQ event July 21-22 at the intersection of First and Howard streets.
