Police have identified the man found dead in late June adjacent to a local gas station.
After an investigation that is continuing the man was identified as Joshua Griffith, 30, of Newberg.
Griffith's body was found by an employee of the Texaco station at 1902 Portland Road at 7 a.m. June 29 in an area adjacent to the station recyclables and a Dumpster area surrounded by a cinder block enclosure.
Police believe he had been there less than six hours, that there was no sign of foul play and determined that nothing suspicious was found at the scene.
Police notified Griffith's family members in the days following his death, said NDPD Capt. Jeff Kosmicki.
"The investigation is still open because we have not received the toxicology results, but we aren't investigating any new leads," he said. "We still do not suspect any foul play."
Kosmicki commented on the day following the discovery that Griffith was known to police. A deputy medical examiner responded to the scene of the death and the Yamhill County district attorney's office was notified as well.
