Give blood, save lives, feel empowered
The American Red Cross is holding dozens of blood drives throughout the region in the coming weeks, including a number of them in Newberg.
To be eligible to give blood, potential donors must be a minimum of 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds and in general good health.
All blood types are needed. A blood donor card or driver's license or two other forms of ID are required to check in. Donors can save time at their next donation by using RapidPass to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online. In Newberg, blood donation events are set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at Burgerville on Portland Road, 2 to 7 p.m. Oct. 12 at Newberg Church of Christ at 2503 Haworth Ave., and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 13 at in the Hoover Building on the campus of George Fox University.
