Adventure, art intertwine at CCC

Based on research, interviews, and a personal 100-mile kayaking journey, local scholar Lauren Bennett will lead a discussion on “The Art of Adventure in the Pacific Northwest.” The free lecture, set for 7 p.m. Thursday in the lobby of the Chehalem Cultural Center, will invite participants to take a look at the natural world and express their own creative side as they do so. Canines Uncorked event on tap

The one-of-a-kind Canines Uncorked event offers a day of complimentary wine tastings and dog-friendly activities at 13 local wineries for $50 (half of which is tax-deductible), with 100 percent of proceeds benefiting the Oregon Humane Society. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Evergreen Museum hosting concerts

McMINNVILLE — Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum invites the community to attend its summer concert series. The series features local bands and artists. Performances will be held at the Evergreen Theater Lawn and will feature food, beer and wine available for purchase. Tickets are $3. Concerts will be held 5:30 to 8 p.m., and the lineup includes The Folsom Band (Friday), Best of Friends (July 26), The Frank Messina Band (Aug. 2) and Mike Strickland (Aug. 10).
