Commerce — Newberg-based dental ?manufacturing giant A-dec Inc. is recognized by a trade group for its new dental chair system

Local dentistry equipment company A-dec Inc. won best new product at the American Association of Women Dentists convention in August.

A-dec was started by Newberg locals Ken and Joan Austin in 1964 with a vision to “champion initiative, integrity, open communication, and service to the greater community,” according to their website.

This is the second consecutive year A-dec won best new product. This year they won for their A-dec 400, a dental chair that provides an ambidextrous configuration. Last year their LED dental light won.

“Our approach is to help doctors maximize productivity without sacrificing patient comfort,” said A-dec Project Chief Tom McCleskey. “With A-dec 400, doctors get exceptional aesthetics with features that make it a versatile investment.”
