GFU baseball receives preseason recognition

The George Fox University baseball team has received votes in both NCAA Division III pre-season national polls as determined by the website and Collegiate Baseball magazine.

The Bruins did not make the top 25 in either poll, being listed among “also receiving votes” in the D3baseball poll, though the exact number of votes was not listed. GFU received three votes in the magazine poll, which included 53 teams. There is optimism around the program with the return of six regulars and 10 pitchers, including all three starting hurlers in Clay Gartner, Connor Harris and Tom Zarosinski. The Bruins also return first team All-America catcher Josh Rapacz and a pair of All-West Region selections, first baseman Derek Dixon and designated hitter Danny Clifford. George Fox (26-12 overall, 17-7 Northwest Conference) placed second in the NWC last year behind eventual national champion Linfield.
