Donated clothing needed

A new local student community service group, 8 for Change, is collecting gently-used clothing of all sizes for men, women, children and infants for the Edwards Elementary School clothing exchange, May 31 at the school carnival. The exchange enables families to bring their gently used clothing and exchange them for others. Items must be donated by May 21. Library screening ‘Monuments Men’

The Newberg Public Library will screen “The Monuments Men,” based on the book by Robert Edsel and Bret Witter, at 8 p.m. May 23. Youth in grade 5 and below must be accompanied by a parent. Stop, drop and read May 27

Kids’ Day Out June 7

Faith in Action is holding “Kids’ Day Out,” a respite care event for families caring for a child ages 3-11 with disabilities or chronic health conditions, from 1 to 4 p.m. June 7 at Joan Austin Elementary School. Registration is required and must be done by May 31. Families will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Plant sale continues

The 2014 Newberg High School greenhouse plant sale will continue from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays in May. Plants are grown by NHS students in the greenhouse.
