Parent group offered in January

Newberg First United Methodist Church will host a Parent-to-Parent Colaborative Problem Solving (CPS) Overview group in January. The group is intended for parents — including foster, adoptive, step and grandparents — of kids who have behavioral challenges and whose parents are interested in learning more about CPS, a strength-based neurobiologically-grounded approach. All groups are confidential and provide parents the opportunity to: gain a new perspective on challenging behavior and a new way of helping their child; improve relationships, reduce conflicts and help their child develop needed skills; and gain support from other parents. Sessions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30. To register, call Jan Urton at 503-435-9107 or email to This email address is being protected from spambots.
