Janice Lynn Ernest

ErnestJanice Lynn Ernest was born on July 26, 1951, to James and Josie (Blaha) Ernest.

Janice grew up in a family of seven (one brother, three sisters) on a strawberry farm in Warren.

She attended Warren Grade School and graduated from Scappoose High class of 1969.

She continued on to Northwest College of Business studying fashion merchandising and then Portland State.

She worked for OHSU Library and Cascade Construction, where she met her husband, Rick LaDick. They welcomed their only child, Darin in 1975.

The LaDick family moved to Warren in 1991, where Janice very much enjoyed the country life. She loved growing her own food, as well as, English roses and many lovely flowers.

Janice eventually moved to Molalla, where she was currently living. She continued to garden and attended Foothills Community Church.

She very much enjoyed puzzles, music, camping, family gatherings, her Bejeweled Blitz group, and her two cats.

Janice’s family will greatly miss her generous heart and joyful spirit.

We witnessed the heartbreaking struggles she faced in her life, and we mourn her sudden departure.

We rejoice in knowing she is now at peace.

Janice is survived by her son, Darin; brother, James Ernest (Mary); sisters, Jean Anderson (Brad, deceased), Jackie Gardner (Chris) and Jessie Baldivez (Joe); 11 nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A family memorial will be held at a later date.
