Claude Raymond Gratreak 94, of Prineville passed away at his home on June 23, 2014. At his request no public services will be held.
Claude was born on June 8, 1920 to Elmer Eugene and Anna Emily (Meyer) Gratreak in Faith, S.D. He worked in Idahna, Ore. in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He settled in Portland, Ore. and started an auto wrecking yard. He later moved to Boring, Ore. and started a second auto wrecking yard and a trailer salvage business. He moved to Prineville in 1991 and married Rosalie Rado in 1995.
He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, pool, horse shoes, and dancing. He was well known as a wonderful dancer, the two-step and Polka. He attended the Eagles lodge and the Prineville Senior Center.
He is survived by his wife Rosalie; five daughters, Shirleen Thomason of Yuma, Ariz., Arlene Spannaus of Prineville, Darlene Trapold of Prineville, Sharon Collins of Castle Rock, Wash., and Jan Mordhorst of Vancouver, Wash.; five sons, Raymond Gratreak of Prineville, Al Olayos of Milwaukie, Ore., Don Olayos of Vancouver, Wash., Jerry Olayos of Bend, Ore., and Mike Olayos of Prineville; sister, Ella Worley of Prineville, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
