Scappoose (12-7 overall, 6-5 Cowapa League), a winner of five in a row, is scheduled to face all-Class 4A junior infielder Gunnar Partain and state semifinalist Banks (11-6, 8-3) in the rubber match of their three-game season series at 7 p.m. on Friday at Wilsonville High School.

The Tribe scores eight runs against seven while the Braves, who have taken four of the last five from the Indians by a usual 8-3 score, put up eight and give up three.

It took JC Gross' one-out eighth-inning walk-off hit to center field to free Jerad Toman and for a 9-8 upset of visiting No. 3 Astoria (14-4, 9-2) on Wednesday after Nicky Gill's one-out double to center scored Hunter Holmason for the tie.

Fishermen senior Kyle Strange beat Gill's one-out tag at the plate in the top of the inning and sophomore Tristan Wallace's single to center brought in junior Trey Hageman to lead 8-6.

Carson Witt's two-out single to center in the seventh sprung Gill and forced extra innings at 6-6, and Astoria's three-game season sweep was not to be.

In a 7-3 season sweep-sealing home win over Seaside (5-12-1, 2-8) on Monday, Hunter Holmason drove in two runs and scored a third, and Ben Teeter came home twice and landed an RBI.

JC Gross pitched six innings for three runs -- one earned -- nine hits and five strikeouts, and Zach Knight went an inning for a hit and struck out a Seagull.

Nate Rieman (three RBIs and two scores), Logan Travis (two RBIs and a score) and Jerad Toman (two scores and an RBI) also helped the Indians shut out the Seagulls 10-0 on Friday, April 28, at Broadway Field in Seaside.

Travis went the distance on the hill for four hits and struck out 10.
