Bits & Pieces: Radio's long reach

All Classical Portland radio (KQAC, 89.9 FM) has opened a second station on the Oregon coast. KQMI Manzanita (88.9 FM) launched last weekend and joins KQOC Gleneden Beach (88.1 FM) in broadcasting on the coast.

All Classical Portland will be relocating in June to the Hampton Opera Building, 211 S.E. Caruthers St. For info: www.allclassical.org.

Wiggers steps down

Namita Gupta Wiggers has stepped down as director and chief curator at the Museum of Contemporary Craft. She served 10 years at the museum, overseeing its move to the North Park Blocks and facilitating its partnership with the Pacific Northwest College of Art.

Among her highlights was bringing Ai Weiwei’s first West Coast exhibition to the museum, curating retrospectives of regional artists such as Betty Feves, Laurie Herrick and Ken Shores, curating more than 65 exhibitions and 100 accompanying programs, and helping the museum double the size of its collection.

Wiggers will continue to work with PNCA and the museum with independent curating, consulting and teaching.

A scary situation

The TV show “Shark Tank,” where prospective ideas are presented to investors, recently featured the idea The Great Horror Campout and, it turns out, the camp will be coming to Portland.

Ten Thirty One Productions presents the overnight, immersive camping experience. “If running around in the woods terrifying people sounds like fun, this is the perfect job for you,” says a news release. It’ll be casting 90 different roles for two live shows in each city.

Roles include: acrobats/martial artists, dancers, creature movers, guitar players/storytellers, little monsters, tall beasts, a motorcycle clown gang, hillbillies, chainsaw maniac, voodoo musicians, certified scuba diver and general monsters.

If interested in the paid roles, send your head photo and resume to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Production dates are set for Aug. 1 and 2.
