PORTLAND

2 p.m. — Thorns FC vs. Chicago Red Stars, Jeld-Wen Field

Portland is 6-1-1 and tied with Sky Blue FC for first place in the National Women's Soccer League.

Chicago is 0-4-2 and has lost twice, both 2-0, to Portland already.

The Thorns have outshot the Red Stars 28-18, including 18-7 on goal.

Both teams will be shorthanded: Chicago is without injured goalie Erin McLeod of Canada, and has defenders Carmelina Moscato and Rachel Quon away on national team duty.

The U.S.-Canada friendly (1:30 p.m. PT Sunday in Toronto) will cost the Thorns the services of forwards Christine Sinclair and Alex Morgan, goalkeeper Karina LeBlanc and defender Rachel Buehler.

The Thorns have called on former Portland State Vikings Amanda Dutra (midfielder) and Cris Lewis (goalie) to fill in against Chicago. Defender Carlie Davis, who led Baylor to the NCAA third round in 2012, also has been added to the squad for the game.

The Crimson Tide takes on the defending state champion Black Tornado for all the 6A marbles. It's a battle of 1 (North Medford) vs. 2 (Glencoe) in the rankings.

4 p.m. — Sandy vs. Hermiston softball, OSU Softball Complex

The 5A title game features No. 2-ranked Sandy (26-1), which hasn't lost since its 5-4, eight-inning opening day defeat at Hood River Valley on March 12, and ninth-ranked Hermiston (18-2), which has knocked off Sherwood, St. Helens, Liberty and Churchill in the postseason.

5 p.m. — Oregon State vs. Cal Santa Barbara baseball, Goss Stadium

The Beavers take on the Gauchos in the regional winners' bracket game of the day.

EUGENE

Noon — Second and final day of the 39th annual Prefontaine Classic, Hayward Field

Day 2 of the NCAA regional in Eugene. The loser of this game is eliminated.

The Ducks go for their second consecutive win in the Eugene regional.
