In the aftermath of President John F. Kennedy's assassination, sports business begins to return to some semblance of normalcy.

Portland State, a member of the Oregon Collegiate Conference, sits in on the Big Sky Conference meeting at Ogden, Utah, but hasn't yet applied to join Weber State, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State and Gonzaga in the new league, which plans to apply to the NCAA for membership in the university division.

Lewis & Clark's football season ends at 8-0, as the Pioneers learn that they have not been chosen to play in the NAIA postseason Camelia Bowl semifinals.
