"Brandin Cooks caught 10 passes for 117 yards to lead Oregon State in a 69-27 loss to Washington Saturday night at Reser Stadium."

So reads the first paragraph of the OSU press release on the Pac-12 game in Corvallis.

Cooks' play was the bright side for the Beavers, who gave up nine touchdowns and 530 yards rushing and fell to 6-5 overall and 4-4 in conference games.

Cooks had another strong effort, but, overall, it wasn't a pretty picture.

Hopefully for Oregon State fans, these photos by Jaime Valdez of the Portland Tribune are slightly brighter to look at:

  • Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion looks at the sideline after being taken out of Saturday's game in the fourth quarter.

  • Beavers QB Sean Mannion is wrapped up by Washington defensive end Evan Hudson in the second half at Reser Stadium.

  • Brandin Cooks, Oregon State's standout receiver, heads for the end zone as the Beavers get on the scoreboard in the second half against the Huskies.

  • OSU running back Storm Woods is gobbled up by Washington's John Tims (left), Marcus Peters (21) and Princeton Tuimaono in the first half.

  • Bishop Sankey crosses the goal line for one of six Washington Husky touchdowns in the second half.

  • Oregon State coach Mike Riley watches the second half.
