COLLEGE HOOPS: Viking men sweep tourney; Ducks 4-0; UP women top Seattle
Portland State completed a three-game sweep of its tournament with a 79-63 victory Sunday afternoon over UC Davis.
DaShaun Wiggins' 21 points led four Vikings in double figures.
Aaron Moore had 18 points and eight rebounds, Andre Winston Jr. scored 15 points and Tim Douglas had 14.
The Viks shot 48.1 percent from the field, making 9 of 20 from 3-point range.
They are 4-1 and have won four in a row heading to Boise State for a game at 5 p.m. Friday.
The Oregon Ducks pulled away from San Francisco for a 100-82 victory Sunday night at Matthew Knight Arena.
Oregon is 4-0 awaiting the University of the Pacific, which will play a noon Friday game at Matt Knight to kick off the Global Sports Hardwood Challenge.
Leading scorers for the Ducks were Elgin Cook (18 points), Jason Calliste (16), Damyean Dotson (15), Mike Moser (13, with seven rebounds), Joseph Young (12) and Johnathan Loyd (11).
Freshman guard Theo Friedman from Grant High scored in the final seconds to get the Ducks to the century mark.
The University of Portland raised its record to 3-2 on Sunday afternoon, outscoring Seattle 41-32 in the second half for a 70-63 win at Chiles Center.
A 15-3 run down the stretch lifted the Pilots, who trailed 60-55 with 2 1/2 minutes to go.
Seattle fell to 1-4.
Cassandra Brown led UP in scoring with 18 points, Alexis Byrd had 15 points and Amy Pupa grabbed 16 rebounds to go with her 10 points.
