Eugene already had been chosen to play host to the event in 2014, and the NCAA has decided to make it a run through at least 2021.

"We plan to turn the NCAA championships into the hottest ticket in the sport," says Vin Lananna, UO senior associate athletic director and president of TrackTown USA.

Hayward Field also will be the site of the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships, the 2015 USA Championships and the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials.
