The Oregon Golden Gloves Amateur Boxing Tournament is on tap at the auditorium.
The Portland Eagles lose 2-1 to the New Westminster Royals in a hockey game at the Ice Arena. The two teams are atop the standings of the Coast Hockey League, which includes Tacoma, Seattle and Canadian clubs Vancouver and Victoria.
The Multnomah Athletic Club and Jewish Community Center handball teams win league matches. The MAC defeats the Fire Department 4-0, while the JCC downs the YMCA 4-1.
And Roosevelt High extends its Portland Interscholastic League bowling lead over second-place Benson, despite the 528 series rolled by Roosevelt's Marvin Sherralt.
