SCORESHEET: House to manage Hops

J.R. House is moving up to manager of the Hillsboro Hops.

House was the Class A Northwest League team's hitting coach last season, the franchise's first in Hillsboro.

Doug Drabek will be back as pitching coach for a second year with the Arizona farm club, and Hillsboro's Ben Petrick will return for his second year as a consultant.

The new hitting instructor is Mark Grace, former MLB player who played 13 seasons with the Chicago Cubs and three with the Arizona Diamondbacks, finishing at .303.

House replaces Audo Vicente, who has been reassigned to the Pioneer League Missoula (Mont.) Osprey, which he managed in 2008 and 2009.

House is in his third year with the Arizona organization. He was with the short-season affiliate in Missoula, Mont., in 2012.

The Hops open June 13, 2014 at Everett. Their home opener at Hillsboro Ballpark is Wednesday, June 18 versus Salem-Keizer.
