The Cleveland Cavaliers take on Portland at Moda Center (KGW 8).

Cleveland played Tuesday night in Los Angeles, beating the Lakers 120-118.

Luol Deng made all five of his 3-point attempts and had 27 points at Staples Center, as the Cavs went 13 of 17 from beyond the arc.

Up front, the Cavaliers' Anderson Varejao and Tristan Thompson are combining for 19.5 rebounds per game, second in the Eastern Conference. Varejao had 18 and Thpmpson 13 against the Lakers, who were down to nine players because of injuries and used banged-up Pau Gasol (strained toe ligament) as their starting center. Varejao added 18 points.

Idle Portland is 28-9, 1 1/2 games behind San Antonio in the West. Oklahoma City is third at 28-10 after losing 90-87 Tuesday at Memphis.

Portland is looking for its third consecutive victory.

The Blazers edged Cleveland 199-116 on a 3-1 trip earlier on Dec. 17, with Damian Lillard sinking the winning 3 with 0.4 seconds to go.

Lillard had 36 points in that game, while his counterpart at point guard, Kyrie Irving, scored 26 points.

This is the getaway game for Portland, which will start a four-game trip Friday at San Antonio, then play at Dallas, Houston and OKC before returning home to face Denver on Jan. 23.

Roosevelt of the Portland Interscholastic League visits Banks, 7 p.m.
