Erik Chinander has become the Oregon Ducks' outside linebackers coach.

Chinander, 34, was an assistant defensive line coach with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013, after three years as an intern and graduate assistant for the Ducks under Chip Kelly, now Philly coach.

Chinander coached fullbacks and tight ends at Northern Iowa from 2004-09, and coached the offensive and defensive lines at Ellsworth (Iowa) Community College in 2003.

• The Ducks also made secondary coach John Neal, 58, passing game coordinator for the defense, after he interviewed to be head coach at Alabama-Birmingham.

• Keith Welch, three-time all-Northwest Conference quarterback for Lewis & Clark who finished his career with the school's total offense record, will be heading to Italy to play pro football with the Ancona Dolphins of the Italian Football League.
