The Portland Timbers chose two midfielders and a Pac-12 forward in the final two rounds of the MLS SuperDraft on Tuesday.

  • No. 39 overall, first in third round — MF George Fochive, UConn

    6,0, 175, Washington, D.C., native played his final two college seasons at Connecticut after starting at Hawaii Pacific. Had two goals and two assists in 45 starts. Second-team all-American Athletic Conference

  • No. 71, fourth round — F Victori Chavez, UCLA

    5-11, 170, Fontana, Calif., native was all-Pac-12, with 27 goals in 79 games over four years, including eight goals as a senior.

  • No. 73, fourth round — MF Nikita Kotlov, Indiana

    5-9, 160, Indianapolis native, led Hoosiers to NCAA title in 2012, scoring the game-winning goal in the final and earning all-College Cup honors. Led Indiana to Big Ten tournament title as a senior and was all-conference. Totaled 26 goals and 14 assists in college.

    The Arena Football League Portland Thunder have acquired former Centennial High defensive back Patrick Stoudamire in a trade with the Spokane Shock for future considerations.

    The 5-11, 210-pound Stoudamire, 25, has played three AFL seasons, the first with Iowa in 2011 and the last two with Spokane. He had two interceptions in 13 games with the Shock last year.

    Stoudamire played college football at Western Illinois.
