Grant High's Hannah Griffiths-Boston, a 5-7 midfielder/forward, has signed a letter-of-intent to play soccer for the University of Portland women's team.

Griffiths-Boston was voted the top player in PIL Class 6A last season, her third on the Grant varsity.

She also won an NPL Regional title with FC Portland in 2013.

The Pilots signed five other players, including 6-1 goalkeeper Taylor Luty from Sunset High and the Tualatin Hills United Soccer Club, where her team is ranked No. 1 in the state and 10th in the region.

Also joining the Pilots are Kaycie Young, a midfielder/defender from Castle Pines, Colo., Madeline Dieker, a forward/midfielder/defender from Lawrence, Kan., Jess Kennedy, a midfielder out of Spokane, Wash., and Maddie Seckman, a defender from Mukilteo, Wash.

The Oregon Ducks launched their bid for a fourth consecutive national title with a home victory over Baylor.

The Ducks scored 280.200 points to the Bears' 274.380 at Matthew Knight Arena. That extended Oregon's win streak to 22 matches.

Next for the UO team is a March 10 three-way meet at Matt Knight, with Quinnipiac and Azusa Pacific taking part. Start time is 7 p.m.
