Prep basketball: The Class 6A girls tournament begins at Moda Center. Today’s quarterfinals are South Salem-South Medford, 1:30 p.m.; Beaverton-Clackamas, 3:15 p.m.; Westview-St. Mary’s Academy, 6:30 p.m.; and Tigard-Oregon City, 8:15 p.m. ... At the 5A tournament in Eugene’s Matthew Knight Arena, PIL champ Wilson meets Willamette in the 1:30 p.m. quarterfinal. ... College men’s basketball: The first round of the Pac-12 tournament is today at Las Vegas. Oregon plays Oregon State at 6 p.m. The winner advances to the 6 p.m. Thursday quarterfinal against No. 2 seed UCLA. (Pac-12 Networks). ... The Concordia University Cavaliers (22-9), who drew an at-large invite, open play in the NAIA Division II tournament at Kansas City, Mo. The Cavs’ first opponent in the 32-team, single-elimination tourney is No. 8 seed Bellevue (Neb.) College (28-5). Tip-off is 7:45 p.m. PT. A victory would put Concordia in a second-round game at 8:15 a.m. Friday. Concordia is led by 6-6 senior forward Adam Herman (24.6 points per game), the Cascade Collegiate Conference player of the year and D-II all-star team selection.

Portland, which was the No. 4 seed going into the conference tournament, will take a 17-11 record into the national tourney.
