Washington State will get another chance
Washington State wants a rematch.
And the Cougars will get it in 2021.
WSU and Portland State will meet again in football on Sept. 11, 2021.
The last matchup between the Pac-12 and Big Sky teams ended in Pullman, Washington with PSU on top 24-17 to open the 2015 season.
The huge upset helped to catapult then-new Vikings head coach Bruce Barnum and his team to the FCS playoffs.
Washington State had been 2-0 against the Viks. The Cougs won 48-9 in 2008 and 59-21 in 2014.
Barnum and the Vikigs have two FBS opponents on tap for 2017. Portland State will open Aug. 26 at BYU and visit Oregon State on Sept. 2.
