Texas rolls past Mariners, 10-4
Texas hitters roughed up star Seattle pitcher James Paxton, and the Rangers rolled to a 10-4 win Friday at Arlington, Texas.
The Rangers (33-33) scored five runs in the third inning. Elvis Andrus had an RBI double, and Adrian Beltre and Jonathan Lucroy two-run singles.
A Robinson Chirinos homer and Carlos Gomez double made it 7-1 in the fourth inning.
Gomer later added a three-run home run.
Jarrod Dyson hit a homer for Seattle (33-36).
The Rangers had 13 hits. Paxton gave up seven hits and seven runs in 3 2/3 innings.
Tyson Ross picked up the win, going 5 2/3 innings and allowing only two hits and two runs.
The teams, both chasing Houston in the American League West Division, play at 2 p.m. Saturday. Yovani Gallardo (3-6, 6.11) takes the mound for Seattle opposite Martin Perez (2-6, 4.56).
