The Hillsboro Hops opened a new series with another win.
The Hops, coming off a 4-1 record in a series with Everett, beat Salem-Keizer 6-3 on Tuesday night before a crowd of 5,223 at Volcanoes Stadium.
Eudy Ramos tied the score with an RBI double in the eighth inning, then scored the go-ahead run on a single by Drew Ellis.
Relievers Junior Garcia and Erbert Gonzalez came through after starter Tyler Keele left with two out in the fifth. Garcia (2-0) got the win on three innings of work in which he allowed one hit. Gonzalez pitched the final 1 1/3 innings for his fourth save in as many opportunities.
Ramos finished 3 for 4.
Bryan Araiza of the Hops had three hits, reached base four times and scored the tying run in the eighth after a leadoff walk.
The teams will conclude a short series at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Salem-Keizer.
Then it's on to Spokane for the Hops, who will play the Indians five times, Thursday through Monday.
Hillsboro began the day in second place in the Class A Northwest League South Division, one game behind the defending NWL champion Eugene Emeralds.
The Hops wound up even with Eugene, both 11-9. The Ems lost at home 7-5 to the Boise Hawks in 20 innings.
The Hawks are third in the division at 10-10, with Salem-Keizer at the bottom and 8-12.
In the North Division, Vancouver is 13-7, Tri-City 12-8, Everett 8-12 and Spokane 7-13.
