The Portland Pickles took an early 12-run lead and beat the Marysville Gold Sox 15-4 on Thursday in a Great West League baseball game at Colusa Casino Stadium in Marysvillle, California.
Portland improved to 17-22. Marysville is 15-25.
The Pickles road trip continues on Friday with the first of three games against the Yuba City Bears, also at Colusa Casino Stadium.
Portland scored three times in the first inning, four in the second and five in the third to build a 12-0 lead. Zander Clarke's grand slam, his 11th home run of the season, capped the five-run third.
Matt Hardy hit a home run and a double for the Pickles. He finished 3 for 6 with five RBIs and a pair of runs scored.
Koty Fallon went 2 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs for Portland. Kelechi Anyanwu was 2 for 4, knocked in one run and scored three times.
Cooper Webster was credited with the pitching win. He worked the fifth inning after Mike Gagliardi pitched the first four, allowing only two hits and one run while striking out three.
