OREGON SPORTS HISTORY/2005: After suspension, he says he is 'taking the high road' for Coach Cheeks

Jan. 31-Feb. 4, 2005

Forward Darius Miles is back on the court for the Trail Blazers after a two-game suspension following his tirade against coach Maurice Cheeks. Miles, 23, makes a pregame statement to reporters, but it is without regret or apology. "I am taking the high road. I am past it," he says.

Two days later, guard Derek Anderson says his work ethic has been unfairly questioned by the team and says he feels "lost" in the organization and "it might be time for me to leave."
