by: MULTNOMAH COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE - LaShai Antoinette WilliamsPolice have arrested the driver of one car involved in a fatal two-car accident early Sunday morning in Southeast Portland.

LaShai Antoinette Williams, 20, is charged with manslaughter in the second degree, driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII), and reckless driving.

According to police, the vehicle Williams was driving struck another vehicle in the intersection of Southeast 122nd Avenue and Stark Street.

A 28-year-old female passenger in the second vehicle died at the scene. The 28-year-old driver was transported to an area hospital with traumatic but non-life-threatening injuries.

The names of the accident victims were not immediately released.

Police say East Precinct officers responded to the report of the accident at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 28. When the offiers and Portland Fire & Rescue personnel arrived, they determined that one person was deceased and another was critically injured.

The Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division's Major Crash Team responded to conduct the investigation into the crash.

The intersection of 122nd and Stark was closed as investigators processed the crash scene.
