One killed, one hurt in Northeast Portland crash
A 62-year-old woman died and a 58-year-old man was hospitalized in a single-vehicle crash in Northeast Portland early Sunday morning.
Their names were not immediately released.
According to police, at 4:42 a.m. on May 12, Central Precinct officers responded to the report of a vehicle into a pole at Northeast 12th Avenue and Davis Street.
Officers and Portland Fire & Rescue personnel arrived and located a Dodge van and two occupants needing medical attention.
The female passenger died at the scene. The male driver was transported to a Portland hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary information suggests that the vehicle was traveling southbound on 12th Avenue when it struck a power pole. No other vehicles were involved in the crash and it is not yet known what factors led to the crash.
The Traffic Division's Major Crash Team is responded to continue the investigation.
