A 10-year-old boy is in critical condition at a local hospital after he was struck by a car Thursday morning while walking with his family in a crosswalk at Southeast 82nd Avenue and Center Street.

Portland police said the boy was taken a hospital for treatment of his injuries. His name has not been released. The first police officer at the scene rendered CPR to the boy and continued until medical personnel arrived.

Police said a southbound Honda sedan driven by a 58-year-old woman struck the boy as he stepped into the crosswalk near the west side of 82nd Avenue. The driver, whose name was not released, stayed at the scene and cooperated in the investigation.

No citations have been issued.
