A man is in critical condition after being run over on Northeast Marine Drive early Sunday.

The name of the 31-year-old victim was not immediately available.

According to police, at 12:58 a.m. on Aug. 4, North Precinct officers responded to the report of a pedestrian that had been run over by a vehicle in the 4000 block of Northeast Marine Drive.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located a male pedestrian suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a Portland hospital and is in critical condition.

Police identified the driver as 22-year-old Dellstan Fillmore. She and a witness remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The Traffic Division's Major Crash Team responded to conduct an investigation.

Preliminary information indicates that Fillmore was not under the influence of intoxicants.

Investigators believe that alcohol may have been a factor in the pedestrian's actions.

Northeast Marine Drive was closed to all traffic from 33rd to 122nd Avenues for approximately two hours during the investigation.

Investigators did not immediately any arrests or issued any citations.
