Heroin dealers busted near school
Two men whose house borders a school were arrested by Portland police Friday and charged with making and selling heroin.
Robert Kent Carlson, 60, and Steven Marshall Buck, 54, were arrested after their home in the 7800 block of SE Raymond Street was searched. Police were tipped off by neighbors about drug activity at the residence.
Their house shares a property line with the Marysville School.
Kathy Toomey has lived across the street from Marysville school in southeast Portland for more than 20 years and said this bust is not surprising.
"That's the way it works," she told KOIN 6 News. "You can't say where it's going to be, where it's not going to be. A lot of times it's right next to the school."
Another neighbor who chose to remain anonymous said something was not right about the house for some time.
"A lot of people just parking around the neighborhood," the neighbor said. "They would park everywhere and they would walk there and do their pick up and drop offs."
